Joss Paper, Origami Paper, Construction Paper
For my second "Wish You Were Here" collage I decided to replicate a project that we completed at my internship at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which reflects the quilts of the Gee's Bend exhibit. We have been talking so much about this very special exhibition that it was great to participate in a program where I could really see the ideals reproduced in the art of a great group of middle school children. I thought the idea to use Joss Paper produced incredible results, and I was eager to create a collage of my own. I thought that this collage really represented where I am in my life right now not only in regards to the exhibit, but also because most art that I produce during this busy period is associated in some way with my graduate program. And as much as I wish I had more free time to create freely, I certainly love being apart of the lives of the children I work with, and I very much enjoy working alongside of them.
